Account type

Standard trading account
A standard trading account allows you to trade:
Exchange traded products such as ETFs, LICs, XTBs

Apply to trade Options
To trade Options (exchange traded) you will need to complete:
Options Application Form.
Note Options can only be traded through Pulse or Iress.


OpenMarkets is required by law to verify the identity of all applicants and beneficial owners. With you consent in our application, OpenMarkets can use the electronic verification services of Equifax which allows us to verify your identity electronically.  

If you prefer to mail to us copies of your identification documents or your electronic verification check is unsuccessful, you will be required to provide the following certified copies of your identification:

a copy of one form government ID e.g. passport or driving licence

a copy of your current bank statement no more than 3 months’ old

What happens next?

Once your application is received and you have satisfied our identification requirements, your application will be processed within 1-3 business days.

If you’ve requested a new Macquarie Cash Management Account in your application, look out for an activation email to review your application online and consent to Macquarie’s terms and conditions.

When your account is ready to go, we’ll send you a Welcome Email with all your account details including cash account and trading platform login.

Simply transfer funds into your linked cash account at least 24 hours prior to trading.

Log in to your chosen platform and start trading!
